Job Description

Performance Standards/Essential Functions -

  • Coordinate employee development activities to meet business objectives through education, employee training, and system driven employee based programs.
  • Coordinate outside services to provide the resources when necessary.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external individuals and groups to achieve goals through negotiation, motivation, problem-solving and feedback.
  • Continuously review and improve training material as necessary.
  • Continually: Coordinate eLearning training programs and recommend training activities to meet organizational goals.
  • Continually: Partner with all Departments to support training initiatives.
  • Continually: Input training records into record retention system and maintain training reports
  • Frequently: Provide input regarding initiatives and actions that involve training and employee participation.
  • Frequently: Coordinate internal/external non-operational skills/certification related training i.e. 5S, RCA, Seminars, etc. Schedule the training hall and assume responsibility for ensuring that the room, equipment, catering arrangements and other requirements are arranged in advance.
  • Frequently: Coordinate the Apprenticeship Program and Tuition Reimbursement.
  • Frequently: Recruit equipment trainers, coordinate train-the trainee events an evaluate new trainers. 
  • Occasionally: Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.
Required Skills


  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent experience and certification.
  • Three to five years training experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite experience including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and use of e-learning systems and document management systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain various equipment certifications and instruct/evaluate trainers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, periodically bending and twisting.
  • Frequently applying a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Requires infrequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds.
  • Requires frequent keyboarding work
  • Close detail work requiring visual acuity.
  • Must be able to perform sedentary work and active work.
  • Requires the ability to orally communicate information.
  • Requires the ability to ascend and descend equipment and work in an industrial environment.


Average office environment in a manufacturing setting. Some demand for overtime for completion of projects, conducting training sessions, attending meetings and seminars, labor negotiations, etc. Occasional out-of-town travel throughout the region with potential for travel to other company locations as needed. Extreme pressures at times when dealing with personnel conflicts, labor negotiations, etc.

Required Experience

All U.S. applicants must be 18 years of age or older and all Canada applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
