Job Description

The SharePoint/Office 365 Architect will provide functional, technical and architectural leadership to design SharePoint/Office 365 solutions for the corporate portal, collaboration sites, document management sites, app sites, and other collaboration tools using industry best practices. The SharePoint/Office 365 Architect will lead in designing solutions that meet the needs of the business – from enhancing team sites to complete department sites or creating customizations of workflows and forms.


Essential Functions:


  • Coordinate with Business and/or key business stakeholders to elicit requirements where SharePoint/Office 365 and/or other collaboration tools can be developed to meet the needs of the business
  • Responsible for the Administration, design and architecture of SharePoint/Office 365 and other Collaboration tools, including SharePoint Online/On-Premise, OneDrive, Office 365 Groups, Video Portal, Nintex, Forms and Workflows.
  • Develops SharePoint/Office365 and blueprints on which functional and non-functional requirements can be met while translating user requirements to technical requirements.
  • Designs application's technical infrastructure, such as application components, widgets, services, development tools, and testing approaches.
  • Possesses broad knowledge of collaborative platforms and applications across all technologies.
  • Converts specifications into design approach instructions to solve business problems through automation support.
  • Participates in the definition of non-functional requirements and ensures that the application architecture supports these requirements.
  • Provides strategic input for long-term application direction.
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with SharePoint/Office365 Enterprise Architecture, Technology Standards, and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning.
  • Participates in evaluation of vendor products to determine conformance with technical standards and appropriate fit with business needs.
  • Assist in the development of requirements for migrating 'on premise' collaboration platforms to Office365 by meeting with both technical and business teams. 
  • Develop solutions to assist Site Owners in the migration to SharePoint/Office 365 as well as enhance the platform. 
  • Day to Day management of SharePoint/Office 365 online health 
  • Day to Day management of “on premise” SharePoint Farm health 
  • Document process and system configuration appropriately and provide customer deliverables. 
  • Test and troubleshoot configurations for SharePoint 2016/2013 and Office 365; Tracking issues/resolutions and perform Root Cause Analysis 
  • Perform architecture design and implementation functions with respect to the Office365 solutions 
  • Custom provisioning for SharePoint online and other features in O365/SharePoint 
  • SharePoint Site, Forms, and Workflow development (Nintex)
Required Skills




  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years' experience with the concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of SharePoint/Office365 applications and/or solutions, security and underlying information technologies.
  • TS, ITP, MCSE or other MS certifications are a plus

Computer Skills

  • Development and deployment of SharePoint sites and solutions using SharePoint Designer and Nintex. 
  • Jquery and REST API
  • Client Side Object Model
  • Information security management 
  • General knowledge of ADFS in support of SharePoint/Office365 implementations 
  • Experience designing and configuring Federated Identity Management, single-sign on technologies and adaptive security model. Extensive experience in:
  • Extensive automation expertise executing PowerShell in O365/SharePoint 
  • SharePoint administration, support and implementation experience with SharePoint including with O365 SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Yammer, Video Portal, App Catalog and Delve 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proven analytical skills with information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with teams of individuals with varied backgrounds and technical understanding.
  • Knowledge of information security and systems administration
  • Well versed in third party cloud based file/content management applications and Collaboration ecosystems. 



Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:


  • Be able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently during the day, bend at waist, twist upper body, stand, walk, and negotiate uneven surfaces.
  • Able to sit for up to 8 hours/day; type or keyboard for several hours per day; be mobile within a confined, crowded area; communicate by speech and hearing in person and by phone in a professional manner.  
  • Visual acuity to perform close detail work with a computer and with troubleshooting and repair of computers and other peripheral equipment.

Job Conditions:


Normal office environment. On-call and occasional overtime required. High-pressure at times when dealing with deadlines and volume of work.
