General Position Summary:

The Area General Manager will be responsible for the oversight and success of a group of stores with retail sales and production operations. Provides guidance and leadership to store managers to ensure each store achieves production and sales goals while operating safely and in compliance with regulations and company policies.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Achieve area sales and production goals, as agreed with the Co-Chief Operating Officer and Regional Director.
  • Work with Co-Chief Operating Officer and Regional Director to continually improve site results and execute company strategies.
  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety Team to ensure sites are adhering to all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with all levels of Store personnel and provide consistent direction of policies, procedures and goals.
  • Mentor and train site management as needed to ensure a successful operation and succession plans are in place.  
  • Provides an environment to attract, hire, and retain all employees including thorough performance planning, goal setting, performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct weekly planning conference calls with store managers.
  • Provide weekly summaries for senior management detailing site level performance as it relates to operational and financial goals.
  • Develop grass roots promotional activities and recommend marketing strategies to assist stores in maximizing wholesale/retail sales volume, profitability and customer traffic.
  • Manage production and sales labor to meet forecasted goals.
  • Analyze monthly/quarterly/annual P&L’s, create business plans and financial recommendations to stores to enhance profitability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business or related field is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years management experience in a retail or production environment required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation, problem resolution and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products a must (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated math, reading, and writing skills to reconcile sales, prepare reports, and read technical manuals are necessary.
  • Able to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to become certified on all PNP equipment.
  • Must have valid state issued Driver's License.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Auto Dismantling Industry is preferred but not required.
  • Able to work retail hours including overtime, weekends and holidays at any store assigned by management.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a background check and drug test.
